The 1st Marine Division Band visited Avengers Campus today to celebrate the 4th of July. This was part of the festivities being put on at the Disneyland Resort for Independence Day. The band was joined for its brief celebratory performance by Captain America and Captain Marvel as they performed.
This is the second concurrent year that the 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton has played in Avengers Campus on the 4th of July. This first happened last year, shortly after Avengers Campus had opened. Members of the 1st Marine Division Band have been playing at the Disneyland Resort over the holiday weekend. This includes the 1st Marine Division Brass Band, also known as the Old Breed Brass Band, the Popular Music Group, and also the ceremonial band.
Bringing in military bands to Disneyland is a tradition that dates back to the opening day of Disneyland on July 17, 1955. Since then, it has been very common for military bands to be invited to the Disneyland Resort as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Below is the 1st Marine Division Brass Band, or Old Breed Brass Band, as it performed on July 3rd at the Paradise Gardens Park stage at Disney California Adventure. Their lively performances were at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
