Disney+ Aims for Late Summer Arrivals for Ms. Marvel, Star Wars: Andor, and Pinocchio

During an earnings call for The Walt Disney Company, some more details were released about three highly anticipated projects that are coming to Disney+. Ms. Marvel, Star Wars: Andor, and Pinocchio were all announced as arriving on Disney+ sometime in the late summer of 2022 during the fourth fiscal quarter. This could be anytime between July and the end of September.

Ms. Marvel will be arriving sometime in the summer of 2022 and will feature Iman Vellani in the title role. She will also be appearing in the sequel to Captain Marvel where she will meet her hero Carol Danvers. This movie, called The Marvels, will be arriving in theaters on February 17, 2023.

Star Wars: Andor was also revealed to be arriving in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2022. This Star Wars series is a prequel to 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and follows the rebel spy Cassian Andor from the film. Diego Luna is returning to the role in this series. It was originally expected that this series would be the second Star Wars series after The Mandalorian. Now, however, it will be following The Book of Boba Feet which will arrive on Disney’s streaming service on December 29, 2021.

Robert Zemeckis’ live-action Pinocchio will also be released sometime during the same window as Ms. Marvel and Star Wars: Andor. The film stars Tom hanks as Geppetto, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, and Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy. They are joined by Keegan-Michael Key as Honest John and Lorraine Bracco as a new character Sofia the Seagull. Pinocchio will be released exclusively on Disney+.

Specific dates for the three projects have not yet been released. Expect more news and trailers on November 12th when the entirety of The Walt Disney Company celebrates Disney+ Day.
