Disneyland’s Blue Bayou to Serve Alcohol When it Reopens

When Disneyland reopens at the end of the month one place that won’t be reopening with the park will be the Blue Bayou. This classic New Orleans Square restaurant will be reopening sometime after the park. When it does reopen, though, it will be offering alcoholic beverages as part of its menu. The news came from the Disney Parks Blog in a lengthy look at what food is available in April at Disney Parks.

The new alcoholic offerings were included in a blurb about the Blue Bayou and a couple of different options were announced. This included a Hurricane Cocktail and a sparkling wine package. Here is what was posted on the Disney Parks Blog:

Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland park will soon offer new beverage options that elevate the culinary experience. This guest-favorite spot will open after the theme parks reopen, and we’ll share that date as soon as we can. The enhanced offerings fit right in with the story and spirit of the Blue Bayou and reflect what many of our guests have requested.

The new additions will complement the menu and theme of the restaurant, with beverages such as wine, beer, and a specialty Hurricane Cocktail – a New Orleans staple! Or, you may want to try the new celebration sparkling wine package. Soon, you’ll be able to pair them with the restaurant’s delicious menu items, like the popular Surf and Turf. Also, keep an eye out for new, seasonal takes on our Mint Julep non-alcoholic beverage. Stay tuned for more on Blue Bayou.

For many years alcohol was not sold at Disneyland other than in Club 33. This changed with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where alcohol was served at Oga’s Cantina. This will undoubtedly be met with mixed reactions from guests who have opinions on alcohol being served at Disneyland. It is one more change at the Disneyland Resort following its closure due to COVID-19 last March. During the closure, the Disneyland Resort suspended its annual pass program. A replacement for it has not been announced at this point. The parks at the Disneyland Resort are set to reopen on April 30th.

  1. About time – lol! Seriously, though, when you pay those prices, you should be able to enjoy a glass of wine with your meal.
