This Spring, the Disneyland Resort will continue its phased reopening! On May 22, 2021, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort and Spa will safely reopen to Disney Vacation Club members.
Though Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park will remain closed for normal operations at this time, the villas will reopen this spring. Originally, this extension of the Grand Californian was set for a phased reopening back in December, but the Stay-At-Home order for the state of California interrupted those plans.
Disney will be working closely with the CDC as well as the U.S. Travel Association and Disney’s team of medical professionals to ensure each choice for the reopening is safe. Keep an eye on the Disney Vacation Club website to see the exact reopening protocol that Disney plans to put into place.
While the parks will remain closed at this time, this is hopefully a move in the right direction for the Disneyland Resort as a whole. Personally, I hope that this move will be followed by the hotel fully opening, followed by the other two hotels. Once it is safe, the reopening of the Disneyland Resort would hopefully not be too far behind!
