This summer will be truly a Marvel-ous one for fans looking forward to the Avengers Campus that is coming to Disney California Adventure. Today, news about this new land was released by Disney. Perhaps most exciting is that the opening date will be on July 18, 2020.
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure is a ride based on Spider-Man that will offer guests of all ages the opportunity to join Spidey on an adventure. The basis of the ride is that thee Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or WEB, is housed in an old Stark Automotives building that has been redone for a group of engineers, including Peter Parker. There, they make products to empower normal people to fight like superheroes. One of these inventions are the Spider-Bots, which unfortunately have gotten out of control and are now causing problems. Guests will have to come together to help take care of these Spider-Bots.
To do this, guests will wear 3D glasses…. and not need anything else. A new technology will utilize gesture recognition so that guests can shoot webs from their wrists just like Spider-Man. They will simply flick their wrists and web sling away! A few more details were shared about the attraction:
There is no minimum required height for this attraction so all-ages can enjoy it.
It will have the option for FastPass but this may not be available on opening day.
High scores will be posted on a public scoreboard. They will show daily, weekly, and monthly top scores.
Carlye Wisel shared some fun cheat codes that will help for those who are into that kind of thing. They are ranked by how many more bonus points you get from lowest to high:
Bright Red
Blue: about to self-replicate
Green: unstable explosive energy
Gold: heat shielding
Characters/Entertainment
It comes as no surprised that characters and entertainment will play a substantial role at Avengers Campus. There will be a lot of them! While visiting the Avengers Campus you might come across any of the following:
Iron Man
Spider-Man
Captain Marvel
Black Widow
Doctor Strange
The Guardians of the Galaxy
Black Panther
Dora Milaje
Thor
Loki
Ant-Man
The Wasp
Iron Man will be debuting his new Mark 80 armor and Spider-Man will be swinging above the campus with some absolutely incredible acrobatic feats. Avengers Campus will also mark the debut of Ant-Man and also The Wasp in Disney California Adventure.
There is also an ancient sanctum nearby where Doctor Strange will be training recruits in the mystic arts. While they do this, the area will be brought to life with mystic spells. At night the mystic energy in the area will bring the area to life even more with vibrant and magical colors.
Where there are Avengers there also will be villains lurking nearby. In the case of Avengers Campus, Taskmaster will be causing the superheroes at Avengers Campus problems. Black Widow will join Black Panther (and occasionally Captain America) against him in a stunt show that will be atop of the Avengers HQ.
Okay and the Dora Milaje will also be leading a new Wakandan training experience at Avengers Campus as well.
