The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic is a beautiful book that retells the classic Charles Dickens story as retold in The Muppet Christmas Carol movie. This beautifully illustrated book reminds the reader what Christmas is all about as Scrooge visits the past, future, and present.
The book is written by Brooke Vitale with illustrations by Luke Flowers. It has the style of a classic children’s book and really is a beautiful book visually. The story, as written by Bookee Vitale, is a wonderful adaptation of the original book and then Muppets movie. It brings this story to life in a completely different way that is perfect for reading around the Christmas tree.
The story is narrated by Gonzo the Great as Charles Dickens, the original author of the story. He gets help from Rizzo the Rat. Kermit the Frog portrays Bob Cratchit with Miss Piggy as Mrs. Cratchit. Together with the rest of the Muppets, they help Scrooge discover the true meaning of Christmas.
I really enjoyed reading The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic. It has the heart of the original story and the warmth that The Muppets brought to the film. Reading through it, I could hear Kermit and the gang saying their different lines. Some of the lines were the exact same lines as heard in the holiday film. Couple that with the beautiful artwork and it is a book that I couldn’t wait to read to my nephews and niece when we are all together for the holidays.
The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic is a really fun and beautiful book that people will love reading for themselves and also for their loved ones. If you enjoy The Muppet Christmas Carol film, you will love this book. It is a heartwarming rendition of one of my favorite Christmas classics! This easily gets a hat tip!
