This holiday season will be merrier than ever at the Walt Disney World Resort. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the entire park will celebrate the season for the first time. As guests tour the park, they will find festive decor and entertainment in every land in the park. This will include Pandora – The World of Avatar, DinoLand, USA., and even Discovery Island! Discovery Island will offer magical holiday experiences both during the day and also at night.
Guests arriving on Discovery Island will discover that they are now in the midst of a holiday celebration. The celebration will include handcrafted by the inhabitants of the island. The village will be full of colorful white decorations for this celebration of winter. There will also be colorful, animal-inspired luminaries lining the rooftops and wireframe lanterns in the shape of little birds throughout the island.
Also on the island guests will find life-sized animals celebrating the season. This will include Reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more. All of these will be inhabiting the island and interacting with guests. Serenading musicians will be accompanying them adding to the atmosphere.
As night falls on Discovery Island, the luminaries and birds will glow to add a magical feel to the village. In the middle of the Island, the Tree of Life will come to life every night. With a holiday-inspired musical score, the tree will show a series of wintery tales. Between these awakening moments, the tree will glisten and sparkle throughout the holiday season as it celebrates the magic of nature and the most magical time of year.
