2019 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band Begins Performances at the Disneyland Resort

2019 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band

The 2019 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band is now performing at the Disneyland Resort. On Monday, June 17th, the band began entertaining guests with five sets throughout the late afternoon and evening.

The college band’s day began with the Patriotic Flag Retreat at 4:30. This was followed be a pre-parade set that began in Town Square and then made its way up to the Hub. This set started with a Star Wars medley, included Goin Down the Bayou, Tower of Power medley, and then The Impressions That I Get.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle set came next with lots of Disney music. A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes kicked off the set. This was followed by a new Aladdin medley. A collection of Pixar songs came next and then the set ended with their popular Disney Attractions Medley.

Shortly after that, the band performed a tribute set at the Main Street Station. The set began with Bubbles Was a Cheerleader. A tribute to The Incredibles followed. The beloved Stevie Wonder tribute came next. This led up to the tribute to Earth, Wind, and Fire! This was an energetic set and gathered quite a crowd.

The final set of the night was performed over in Disney California Adventure at the Hollywood Backlot Stage. As the summer progresses, this will be the time where the band plays its sit-down jazz set. Generally on the first couple of days though, music from the day is played. In this case, the set began with A Dream is a Wish. The band then played The Incredibles tribute again. The night wrapped up with the Disney Attractions Medley.

The Disneyland Resort All-American College Band’s schedule stayed fairly close to what was shared by the band last week. It appears to be within five minutes of the times posted. However, if you are planning on watching the band perform, show up about 15 minutes before the set you wish to see. Here are the set times as shared by the 2019 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band:

  • 4:30 PM – Disneyland Patriotic Flag Retreat
  • 5:15 PM – Main Street, USA
  • 6:45 PM – Sleeping Beauty Castle
  • 7:45 7:35 PM – Town Square
  • 8:45 PM – Hollywood Backlot Stage in Disney California Adventure (jazz sit-down set)

The 2019 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band will continue performances Monday-Friday until August 9, 2019. The DAPS MAGIC team will be on hand to capture as many of these as is possible. There will also be guest clinicians throughout the summer. Check out the DAPS MAGIC YouTube page for videos of these as well.  In the past, these clinicians have included jazz greats like Gregg Field, Sal Lozano, Wayne Bergeron, Jiggs Whigham, John Clayton, Rick Baptist, and others.
