The 2018 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band Says Goodbye

On Friday, August 10, the 2018 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band said goodbye as the summer wraps up. Under the direction of Nathan Hatton, the band has performed at Disneyland over the course of the last 11 weeks. The day of performances was a wonderful culmination of those 11 weeks.

The 2018 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band’s Last Day

It began with the patriotic flag retreat at Town Square. This was followed by their Disney/Pixar set at Sleeping Beauty Castle. Per usual, the jazz set at the Royal Theatre was next. It included some classic big band songs and also some Disney music as well. The final two sets were in front of Main Street Station. For those that watched the band regularly, they noticed that the two sets swapped some of the music that was normally played during these two sets. This meant that the band ended with its classic Earth Wind and Fire medley.

This year the Disneyland Resort All-American College Band was directed by a student director, Nathan Hatton. Each weekday they performed five sets in the evening. They also had educational sessions throughout the summer and worked with several guest clinicians.
