Last night, Disney announced all the would be coming when we see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming to parks. Today, we got our first look from Walt Disney Imagineering into the animatronics that will be used in the park!
In the 30-second clip from YouTube, we get a look at the newest line of animatronic. We start with a look underneath the “skin” and get to see Imagineers making it work. The truly stunning thing is the reveal of the animatronic at the end. We see Hondo, from Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, talking and moving about. Hondo appears in the upcoming attractions Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, as he is letting guests fly the Falcon to help him smuggle around the galaxy.
We consider this another amazing feat from Imagineering! You may remember earlier this year when Tokyo Disney released video of their upcoming Beauty and the Beast Attraction. The animatronic makes you feel as if you have stepped directly into the animated film! We imagine that this animatronic in Galaxy’s Edge will make you feel as if you have transported into a galaxy far, far, away.
