Millennium Falcon - Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Disney Announces Opening Dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Today, the opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were announced at the annual meeting for The Walt Disney Company shareholders. The announcement has been highly anticipated and dates speculated about.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at the Disneyland Resort on May 31, 2019, at Disneyland. For Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening on August 29, 2019. For those planning on visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park between May 31 and June 23, 2019, they will need valid theme park admission and also be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. Details on how to make a reservation will be on Disneyland.com and the Disney Parks Blog at a later unannounced date. Guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels will get a reservation for the land. One reservation per each registered guest will be offered.

The opening date for Disneyland comes earlier than anticipated. In an interview earlier this year, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger indicated that the land would be opening in June. When the land opens, it will be a soft opening, and not everything will be available. Guests will be able to pilot the Millennium Falcon in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, but Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be opening at a later date.
