Play Disney Parks App

Play Disney Parks App Arrives on June 30th at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts

The Play Disney Parks app will be arriving on mobile devices this Saturday, June 30th. This new app will be free to download on both the Apple app store and also Google app store. It is already available for pre-order on both.

This new app will offer an interactive way for families and friends to enjoy together. The goal is to turn wait time into play time, according to the Disney Parks Blog. There will be different experiences and activities for select attractions that include: Playset Party at Toy Story Mania! in Disney California Adventure park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Off to Neverland at Peter Pan’s Flight at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, Rocket Race at Space Mountain at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, and Andy’s Boardgame Blast! at the new Slinky Dog Dash coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There will be other things to experience and explore in the app as well.

As guests log into their Disney account, there are other fun things that can be done. They can earn, collect, and share achievements that are themed towards specific activities. There will be opportunities to answer trivia and complete challenges or experiences both at the Disneyland Resort and also the Walt Disney World. The Disney trivia featured is being billed as something that will be fun for all. It will allow guests to discover fun facts about whatever their favorite theme park is.

Music will also be incorporated into the Play Disney Parks App. It will be able to access Apple Music* where special playlists from lands, attractions, and characters in the Disney parks will come together to create a unique audio experience. If guests like the playlists enough, they can add the Disney tracks into their Apple Music library (as an Apple Music subscriber).

The best part about this app is that it is just getting started. In the coming months and years, it will be added to. The Disney Parks Blog is already saying there will be new offerings and experiences for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019 at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
