Salt and Straw Ice Cream Coming to Downtown Disney

Salt and Straw ice cream is coming to Downtown Disney according to Disney Parks Blog.  The unique ice cream store will be part of the ongoing redoing of the “promenade-wide” area.

What is Salt and Straw?

Salt and Straw has a few locations on the west coast including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland.  It’s known for very unusual custom flavors of ice cream.  For example, the Portland shop currently has one called TACOCAT, and during the Thanksgiving time they have a Thanksgiving dinner in one scoop.

When’s it open?

It’s unknown exactly when the shop will open, but it will be within this year.  It’s also not known where the shop will open, but it’s a safe guess it will not be where several shops and restaurants will be closing later this year to make way for the new hotel.

I’ve been to the Salt and Straw in Portland a few times and it is a very fun and flavorful ice cream stop.  I’m looking forward to it opening this year!
