Get the Scoop on the Grand Opening of Salt and Straw in Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort

Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort is getting bigger and better every single day! Salt and Straw, an exciting ice cream shop with small-batch, chef-driven ice cream made by hand with local ingredients, has found its new home in Disneyland and we couldn’t be any more excited!

The shop will have its grand opening on Friday, October 12th at 9:30 am. The storefront will open officially at 10:00 am for all guests. While Salt and Straw has been serving up tasty treats in Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle since 2011, this will be the first Salt and Straw location in Orange County, much to the delight of many ice cream aficionados. The artisan shop is unique as Salt and Straw creates unconventional flavors, along with some classics. While they’ll offer flavors of chocolate and vanilla, you’ll see others like Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper or even an Olive Oil ice cream. Whether you’re looking for a traditional flavor or are willing to try something more daring, this is the dessert shop for you!

If you’re looking for more than just a scoop or two, you’ll be able to grab a pint of one of their many flavors! Last week at a pop-up, I was able to enjoy a scoop of their Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and it was one of the most wonderful and decadent ice creams I have ever had. That one scoop sold me and I cannot wait to have a local shop to visit!

Are you looking forward to checking out Salt and Straw when it opens this week? What flavor do you want to dip into first? Let us know in the comments!

Until next time,
