Winter 2017 AP Days Begin At Disneyland Resort

February 10, 2017 kicked off the four week long appreciation of Disneyland Annual Passholders known around the park as “AP Days”. This season’s event is themed around the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade to its home at Disneyland, and had multiple stops around Disneyland to celebrate.

The main attraction for this season’s AP days was the Welcome Center located in the Starcade in Tomorrowland. Inside the building there was a photo opportunity with a recreation of the drum from the parade, along with a photopass cast member available to take the pictures. Also inside was an exclusive character meet and greet, and due to limited space there were fast passes available to return at a later time for the characters, a seating area with phone charging stations available, and a shopping area with

merchandise themed to both AP Days and the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Throughout the park, there were many Electrical Parade themed treats, and even recipe cards for passholders to pick up. Because these locations are dispersed throughout the park, there isn’t much of a wait and is very easily accessible at most points in the day.

In my personal opinion, one of the best parts was the special screening of a 1986 documentary about the imagineering and implementation of the Main Street Electrical Parade. There were three screenings available in the opera house, all of which seemed to fill up. My best advice would be to show up early in the day to claim a time spot and a wristband so that you could guarantee a spot into the showings.

Overall, it seems to be a very popular event for passholders and a fun way to celebrate the return of a classic parade. Keep a look out over the next couple weeks as new buttons and artwork are released, and have fun at Winter 2017 AP Days!
