Walt Disney Studios Sets New Record Reaching $1 Billion in Domestic Box Office Sales

Marking a huge milestone, Walt Disney Studios has reached $1 billion in domestic box office sales in the past 174 days. News broke on Thursday of this achievement and the Los Angeles Times noted, “this is the 10th consecutive year and the 19th year overall that the studio has surpassed the box office milestone.”

INSIDE-OUT

The previous record was set at 188 days, back in 2012. Dave Hollis of Disney gave this quote to the paper saying,”from reimagined classics to massive superhero adventures to original emotional stories, all of our brands have delivered top-notch storytelling this year. We’re pleased that audiences across the country have embraced our films, and are seeing them the way they were meant to be seen, on the big screen.”

Films such as Inside Out, Tomorrowland, Cinderella and Avengers:Age of Ultron helped break the latest record.

The year is not even close to being over and yet the studio has a handful of films to be released such as Ant-Man and the highly anticipated, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Congratulations to all those and their hard work.
