welcome to Geeks Corner dapsy Edition that's right I'm Mr daps and I'm Johnny 5 and do you have a reason of course I

have a reason of course you do those of you who don't know the dapsis are a very prestigious award that we give away

they're so prestigious that nobody's ever heard of so prestigious absolutely this is the first annual dapsy Awards

absolutely and we have five categories and each has five recipients so that is why I'm Johnny 5 today honor of the

prestigious award ceremony and like most prestigious award ceremonies they take forever right no

no Mr DS and I'm Johnny Five and this is the dapsis we are here in our awesome um

theater once again and uh we are going to give you in 8 minutes what no other

awards ceremony could do in hour yeah

yeah welcome to Geeks Corner the depies this is the ultimate uh awards show

where we go through all of the awards you could ever care about in about 10 minutes maybe even less right and for those of you who are cringing right now

he's Mr daps and I'm Johnny 5 that is absolutely correct we are your your humble presenters um that may not be so

humble so do you want to start things off

absolutely welcome to DS I'm Mr DS and I'm 25 and I and this

is the uh fourth one of these fourth annual daps this really is the award show it's the only award show that

matters because we don't bother with music we don't bother with really lengthy speeches we're not telling you

the nominees we're just telling you the winners like the that matters right and why would we why would we bother with

any of that and on even care what order they're in right we do we care what topic we do yeah and not what order we

give them out in right and the award for the best goes to

Star Wars the Force aw that was the award for what the best okay yes abely

best the best the best just the best

just uh for the Prince Hans award goes to Utopia m

became the last communion my friends my

friend so weird oh hi guys

he so this year we've added something new to the dapsis and that is short films cuz why not it's also a short film

festival it's also a short it is okay that's the

you're I think you win the card flip award I'm actually Prett you're you're doing a really good job and I'm wondering if we swap places if it would

change but um I don't feel like we can do that I'm pretty good at it this year and usually I am the worst yeah usually

I'm the one flipping him back in like maybe it's cuz we don't have an

audience this is the song that starts the show it's not too long and it can't

be slow we're singing and we're dancing and we're hoping that you go I love this

song I love this

show my goal was to make a movie that felt like a movie and I feel like I did that Bailey says

it's deserving of a clap but it's too sophisticated so it deserves snaps oh I

couldn't read that part very well done thank you well

done okay uh this is the I like football now award and that goes to my girl

welcome to the dapes I'm Mr daps I'm Katie and this is also Geeks corner but

you know it's both because this is the awards show that started in 2012 on geks

Corner because because two Geeks had an idea and they pulled together a team I

are you doing I don't know whatever comes to mind oh anyway this is the daps and this is the ultimate award show

where nothing really matters and it doesn't take 12 hours thank goodness

absolutely so should we get going on this or do you want to ask a question for the chat uh chat are we cooked um

also I don't know what was your favorite year of the DS my personal favorite was the year with the intro with Cameron

where he was singing and just you and I had our instruments in the background that was a fun year mainly just CU I

went anyway so tell us what your favorite year was I think my favorite year was the first year that's a pretty

good one just because it's ridicul like it was such a completely out there idea

and we were flying without a net I guess like I don't know flying without a net yeah is

that the phrase I think so falling without a net flying without a net something like that flying without a parachute um I don't know that too you

have a favorite you said yours is with the one with all right well let's get into this we have five categories each

with five winners no nominees because why would we waste time with that sorry

so Katie would you get us started in the category of movies

wonderful uh well we wanted the Hensen biopic but you gave us this instead

award goes to Saturday night it was a little bit of J Henson good throw good

thank you all right second in movies is the star shows up for a lookalike

contest for himself yet still loses award and that goes to a complete

unknown come on Timothy shalam yeah that's I don't know that's oh that was a

good one we're never going to find that 10 years later

wonderful oh this is a good one thank you for giving me this one oh you're welcome uh it's for me actually I don't know what it is uh this is the give us a

pro shot you cowards yes award amen you know what daps are over and who won this

wicked okay thank you not mean girls I can tell you that much that is that is true um no I I would love to see the pro

shot of that and I would go to opening night show it to me Rachel show it to me please all

right this movie well the award is the this movie was made for Mr daps I.E me

wasn't it and the award goes to my friend the penguin

penguin oh go that's that one went like we're really never getting that

one okay this this one's fun this is the we got tired of colons

and long titles oh yeah so we just added a two this one actually gets two winners

for they tied huh for two yeah that is inside out two and Moana two so o

got to throw it twice I like apparently the twos didn't work as well cuz that one just went well

you know what all right we have a new category this year we have updated things in the world sure um mainly as

the world has evolved we realize that it's really about moments and not just videos if I can grab these so the new

category that's replaced videos I mean cuz let's face it the Oscars they get new Awards why can't we yeah and I Mr

apps why not right yes right so the new category is

moments instead of videos after uh what 13 years yeah 13 years your lucky number

13 that is my lucky number and I have the cards upside down this is fun all right so the first award that goes in

the category of moments first time this category has ever appeared in the dapsy

is for the video that we never s thought we'd see shot in the Parks

and still aren't sure that we should have and that goes to Story Time with

Deadpool that was fun it went higher but didn't go it didn't go far it also like boomeranged a little bit yeah that was

interesting much like Jojo siwa once said I'm a come back like a boomerang I did enjoy the Deadpool the story pool

the story pool that's what it's going to be called from now I keep saying story pool that I'm like so honored to

announce the ones that I'm but it's like it's we have such a strong lineup for the abies this year so this is good here

this is the we came for a world of Pure Imagination and got a mostly empty Warehouse instead and that goes to

Wily's chocolate experience Wily who it went a whole lot like that

actually the cards said it all it just went straight on down all right this one

how's it going you're welcome this

one we'll go down in history for a very long time in fact I dare say we're going

to hear about it every two or four years for the foreseeable future but the award this award is for uh the uh yep you

broke the Olympics award and that goes to Ray gun's break

dancing you notic see all these cards are just crashing like maybe let us know

in the comments what you think of the moments um I really hope category I like yes this is the one I really really

wanted okay okay I'm honored the best

New Year's Eve moment from Ray fines oh yeah goes to very Dem very mindful do

you see how I show up to work I'm mindful of why I was hired brilliant it was so the original

was good but him doing it like M from double or from James Bond it's also

Anderson Cooper feeling a little too silly and him just like doubled over oh

yeah and Andy Cohen going he Giggles his his giggle is so high yeah because Andy Cohen is the straight man on New Year's

Eve and he's like yes may some your will host New Year's Eve that'd be pretty funny do our own

version of of New Year's Eve on CNN it's e Johnny we dress up are we cooked yeah okay all right the final award for the

uh the moments category first ever moments category is the I want to hop I

want to hop I want a hop I want a hippopotamus for Christmas award and that goes to mooding even though she

betrayed us o oh that was a good throw okay I guess I maybe can forgive so that

one flew across the studio under the computer and slid and stayed there it's

really good actually kind kind of amazing all right as we've done in recent years I think since 2019 as I was

going through the uh the history of the daps today yes I downloaded every dapsy

that we've done we do short films now mhm Katie you did a short film I sure

did what is it called it is called park ponderings park ponderings waiting for gdau waiting for

gdau but waiting for DBS okay let's take a look at Park ponderings

I'm getting a little suspicious and back to this I do love DCA

1.0 I am so lucky I have this

shirt I don't really remember that being in DCA 1.0 or that I do remember that taste

Pilots the world would truly be a peaceful place if DC 1.0 still

existed or would it what year is it oh

okay wasn't Mr D supposed to be here did he get

lost I think he knows his way to Disneyland it'll be fine okay

maybe if I sit here long enough he'll show

up what was

that

okay I am very concerned with that

corner you know what I probably should have gone to Disneyland instead

well you know sometimes technology doesn't work the way we think it's going to I'm only

disappointed that it's missing one thing and that was oh sorry I was thinking about Rizzo the rat again what we'll do

is we will post the full video once it's been this one was better but the full video will show up on our YouTube

channel and you can see the uh RZ of the Rat moment um also if you'd like to see

more Park ponderings and have ideas for where they should be at let us know in

the comments and uh we might be able to make that happen we'll use the same music we'll use the same effects and

we'll see what ponderings Katie comes up with or maybe she doesn't come up with any ponderings and we let people put in

the captions instead oh that'd be good and dangerous like you could literally just send us Park ponderings and then

you would add them in afterwards as the moments that you you read That's all right speaking of

ponderings I ponder about people quite a bit I Ponder people yeah they're kind of interesting so uh let's move into the

people category shall we people people people you want to go first what's up party people all

right okay this is the well at least we still have figment award that goes to

Pete doctor because you know cars is uh taking over uh taking over the r of big

portion of Magic Kingdom how do you feel about that let us know in the comments that could be kind of interesting um all

right the most trustworthy award goes to Josh Gad for in Gad We Trust haven't

ready yet but I'd like toit the camera that was SK good thing

the mic's not on the camera no kidding oh this is good oh okay good good the I really wanted to be on a podcast but

instead opted for my best friend's TV show oh that's Martin Short good good

call Martin like good good for Marty good good good thing all right and the I

didn't want to do a podcast so I made a TV show about one goes to Steve

Martin a little Duo award moment that one was pretty good just say was actually really good I I liked

it very apropo for me to present this one okay good good proof that being a Super Fan can get you

places who's that go to do not me uh Dave filon Dave filon congratulations

basically the Dave filon of dap's magic Chief creative officer of Lucas film now

making all of our Star Wars dreams come true we hope oh all right let's move on

into the category of geek which is always a fun one I I always appreciate that should I start this one let's do it

all right and the award for and The Crowd Goes Wild Well really mediocre

goes to Ross the piano man God I that's about how Ross the piano man went that

was about the I hope he's doing okay but he did play Taylor Swift and he did play Elton John and he did play The Beatles

so he gets something he played one Taylor Swift he knew one Taylor S song over and over again it was great uh what

song was that shake it off there you go all right I do have video um this is the

x marks the spot but the x is always moving for the Disney treasure M I see

what you did there no didn't get wet but it went in my

cup that it's like a trick shot and the award four the lines are so long how

long are they we'll just make more just like we did with the movies that goes to

Pandora coming to Disney California Adventure wild oh that was you hit me in the face on the on the screen that was

good on the screen that was really good UND just Queen oh a this is making

history by capturing history and that goes to our friends at Mouse steps one of the best Disney sites out

there with fantastic videos that date back probably before I can remember but thank you Jeff and Denise for all you do

for the Disney community and I hope you see this there's some of our favorite people it's correct all right and the final

award for the T category of geek is the so cool their hot award and that

goes to the secret agents band God I love them oh I got in that little thing

again again all right now it is time for another short film this one comes

from Mr daps himself which happens to be me let's just watch it huh

in 1937 Jay horal son of George Hormel of horal foods invented spam this was

done to use up excess pork in order to create an affordable meat product during the Depression it apparently was a

success because soon during World War II over 100 million cans of the product

would was shipped to troops around the world today spam is available in over 40

countries around the world with over 8 billion cans being sold globally it also

has over a dozen different varieties welcome to geats I'm Mr daps and let's go on a

Adventure there are many different opinions about spam but did you know that spam only has six ingredients in it

spam is made up of pork with ham meat which counts as one salt water potato starch sugar and sodium nitrate while

many of these ingredients they're pretty simple sodium nitrate does stand out but really at the end of the day this is

just to keep spam fresh yes it keeps it fresh to make Spam all of the

ingredients are mixed together for about 20 minutes and then brought to proper temperature the mixture is then put in

cans and vacuum sealed and after this the cans with the spam in them are

cooked and then cooled for about 3 hours once this is done they are ready for their labels and then begin the process

of distribution arriving in stores and then eventually in your

kitchen there are many different things that you can do with Spam a lot of them can be found at spam.com but there's

other websites too spam can be used for breakfast for lunch for dinner in recipes for dishes like MBI sliders

tacos kiche soups even cookies we aren't going to do any of those today though today we're going to make goou Jang

flavored spam with rice this is simple it's quick and it's a great introduction

to spam today we're going to make goou Jang flavored spam with rice and this is

a simple recipe it's only about 20 minutes very quick and it's a great way to be introduced to spam

whenever you're cooking anything the first thing you want to do is pull all of your ingredients together and all of your tools together this means you won't

have to be running around and scrambling during the cooking process and you don't have to risk things well getting burnt

not so good in this case you're going to need one can of spam 1 tbsp Goji Jing

paste one tbsp sugar I'm going to use honey one tbspoon soy sauce four cups

cooked rice and 1/4 cup of chopped green onions and a little olive oil oil or

sesame oil you will also need a vessel to cook the spam in and that could be a skillet that could be a walk whatever

works you're going to need a spatula and a rice cooker if you don't

have a rice cooker that's okay you can make it on the stove or the microwave the first thing you need to do put the

rice in the rice cooker be sure to rinse it ahead of time and measure carefully once that is done it's time to focus on

the spam which is the fun part put the pan on medium or medium high and then

slice the spam then put the pieces in the pan and as soon as you do this start

chopping up the green onions if you haven't done that already once the spam is browned on one side flip it until

it's browned on the other then while you're cooking the spam mix the goou Jang the soy sauce and the sugar

together once both sides of the spam are browned then you're going to put your goou Jang sauce with all that other

stuff on the spam cook it on low for a few minutes basically to let the spam absorb all those

flavors once everything's cooked it's time to Plate this is one of my favorite Parts remember we eat with our eyes so

this is very important take a little extra time to make it look great first

off put your rice in a bowl then carefully arrange the spam on top of it and garnish with the chopped onions if

you want to go the extra mile add some fur coake a or a little soy sauce drizzled on top these aren't necess but

they do add a little extra flavor and visual appeal if you feel like going the extra mile if you really wanted to go

all out I'd put a sunny side egg up on top of it all and if I'm in a rush I don't bother with any of this but if I'm

feeling creative then I definitely add these and perhaps some other

things once the dish is finished take some time to enjoy it as you're eating

your way through this dish and enjoying your spam perhaps for the first time think back about where it came from and

how it has contributed to the world as it's face some really challenging times

then it's time to consider you've got it it's time to

consider making spam butterscotch cookies I'm Mr dabs this is Spam this
