The D23 Gold Theater is an exclusive virtual and event-based video series hosted by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club that gives D23 Gold Members access to rare screenings, live panels, and interactive virtual events.
If you missed the recent D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past August or you missed a few panels due to scheduling conflicts, the D23 Gold Theater is opening to show some of those presentations.
First up is Disney Legends in Conversation 2026. This panel was hosted by Robin Roberts from ABC’s Good Morning America. The panel featured Susan Egan, voice of Megara from Hercules; Imagineer Kim Irvine; Animator Eric Goldberg; and voice actor Alan Tudyk. The panel focused on how their careers with Disney began, and how it has evolved since becoming a part of the magic. This panel will be presented beginning Thursday, October 22, in the D23 Gold Theater. Here is the Disney Legends Ceremony from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event:
On Thursday, October 29, Disney and National Geographic: Capturing the Wonder of Nature will be presented. This panel featured Disney Legend and Imagineer Joe Rohde, who played an important role in the concept of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Moderated by Disney Legend Joe Rohde, the panel brought together an elite group of storytellers — including Walt Disney Archives Director Becky Cline, Disneynature producer Roy Conli, and National Geographic cinematographer Sophie Darlington. The presentation looked back at 75 years of nature storytelling, highlighting how real-world animal behavior, ecosystems, and conservation efforts have deeply inspired Disney’s legacy from Walt’s original 1948 True-Life Adventures all the way to modern National Geographic and Disneynature films. You can watch this presentation here.
The third and final Gold Theater presentation coming on Thursday, November 5, is Floating Mountains: A Conversation with Joe Rohde. This presentation was hosted by Lisa Cabello of Disney+ and focuses on Joe Rohde’s new book Floating Mountains: The Art of Imagining the Impossible. This book is a guide on creativity, collaboration, and innovation, featuring behind-the-scenes stories, original sketches, and lessons from projects like Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Pandora – The World of Avatar. You can watch this presentation here.
