Work continues on the west side of the Disneyland Resort’s arrival process. Specifically, work is continuing at the security checkpoint near what was once the ESPN Zone and the current Star Wars Trading Post. This is the only security checkpoint that hasn’t seen a major renovation recently. Over the last couple of years, more permanent structures have been erected at the other two entrance points to Downtown Disney District near the Disneyland Hotel and the Downtown Disney District parking lot. The checkpoint currently under construction provides walking access to the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures. It is also near a new ride-share drop-off and some hotel bus drop-offs (Toy Story buses will still be picking up and dropping off guests on the Harbor Boulevard side of the Disneyland Resort).

On Sunday, friends of Daps Magic Mike and Matt stopped by the Disneyland Resort and took the following photos of the work that is being done in this area. This includes the work on the security checkpoint, the new hotel bus drop-off, and surrounding areas. Check out their photos here:

While the work is happening at this checkpoint, guests are being diverted to enter Downtown Disney District at the entrance next to the Disneyland Hotel by Din Tai Fung. It is unknown how long this project will take. For those walking from the parking structures, allow extra time to walk to the other security checkpoint.

These changes come as Disneyland Resort continues to move into the future that was approved as part of the DisneylandForward proposal. This will lead to new arrival experiences, a new parking structure and transportation hub on the east side of the resort, new attractions, a new Tomorrowland at Disneyland, and more. There will be no shortage of exciting things to experience and enjoy in the coming years at The Happiest Place on Earth!
