Work is currently underway at Tokyo Disneyland on the world’s first Wreck-It Ralph ride. The new Tokyo Disney Resort ride is set to open in the spring on April 15, 2027. Ahead of that, Disney has shared details about what guests can expect when they experience this Tomorrowland attraction.

Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue Premise
Sugar Rush is a candy-themed racing game. But not everything is as sweet as it seems. King Candy is plotting to take over the world of video games. To do this, he has transformed the candies throughout Sugar Rush into Sugar Bugs that are programmed to consume the entire kingdom. These candies include gummy candies, lollipops, bubble gum, and ice cream. Riders will get to enter the game world and then team up with Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends to restore the Sugar Bugs to their original “kawaii” (Japanese for cute!) forms before the world of Sugar Rush is destroyed.
Riding Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue
When guests board the ride vehicles, they will discover there are scanners installed aboard. These will be used to work together to defend Sugar Rush from King Candy. There will be points awarded based on the types and number of Sugar Bugs restored. These factors will add interactive gaming elements to the experience. This will make it fun to play and fun to compete with those who are riding together.
At the end of the adventure, the results of this adventure will be seen on the vehicle screens. Then, for a limited time after the ride, results will be found on the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Photos captured during the experience will also automatically be added to My Photos in the app and be available for purchase.

Wreck-It Ralph Merchandise and Popcorn
The attraction won’t be the only fun offering based on Wreck-It Ralph. There will also be new merchandise and food inspired by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue found outside the attraction.

Pixel Prism will be a new shop that will be found next to the attraction. It will also open on the same day as the attraction, April 15, 2027. The shop is inspired by a digital marketplace. It will be a colorful space that features fiber optic-inspired design elements, pixel-patterned flooring, and game-inspired motifs. There will also be a large, illuminated pixel structure found at the entrance. This will be where guests can shop for attraction-inspired merchandise along with other things like plush, candy, and even toys that are inspired by the attraction’s scanners.
The Popping Station is a new popcorn stand that will open on March 17th and overlook the Tomorrowland Plaza. This popcorn stand will serve Sugar-Lime Popcorn. This will be a sweet-and-tart flavor that is inspired by the Sugar Bugs in Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. The brand-new flavor will also be found at other popcorn wagons throughout Tokyo Disneyland.
Along with the specialty popcorn, there will be other themed culinary offerings found throughout Tokyo Disneyland next spring when the attraction opens.
More Wreck-It-Ralph Offerings
Along with the attraction, the shop, and the popcorn wagon, there will also be some other fun offerings for Wreck-It-Ralph fans at Tokyo Disney Resort to enjoy. Starting on January 12, 2027, there will be a new smartphone mini-game available. It will allow players to train to help save the world of Sugar Rush. The game can be played at home. There will also be a special version available in certain areas at Tokyo Disneyland that will incorporate park scenery into the experience.
There will also be new attraction-inspired decorations and photo opportunities arriving in Tomorrowland on February 18 at Tokyo Disneyland. This will be followed by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue-inspired projections on Cinderella Castle starting on March 18.

More New Offerings in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland
There will be other new offerings found in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland. This comes as the transformation sees a new vision for the land. In the center of the land will be the Tomorrowland Plaza. This is designed around the idea that humanity and nature exist in harmony and it will serve as a connection between Tomorrowland’s past and future.
Throughout the plaza, guests will find structures that are inspired by natural elements including fire, water, earth, and wood, along with light inspired by celestial bodies like the Sun and Moon. At night, the area will be transformed with light and sound. The Element Express will also be a new counter-service restaurant found at Tomorrowland Plaza. It will serve snacks and drinks.
New Space Mountain
A major part of the evolution of Tomorrowland will be Space Mountain Earthrise. This will be a brand-new take on this classic Disney coaster. This attraction will continue to preserve the spirit of the original Space Mountain. It will also introduce brand-new architecture and a new ride system. This will combine imaginative storytelling and immersive theatrical effects that are inspired by the wonders of space. The start of the attraction will see guests launched from Earth deep into space.
Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, Space Mountain Earthrise, Tomorrowland Plaza, and new dining and shopping experiences are all a part of this transformation of Tomorrowland that is a part of the next chapter for Tokyo Disneyland.
