Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril will soon be closing for a major refurbishment at Disneyland Paris. The popular attraction is set to close on January 4, 2027. It will be closed for several months while work is being done on it.

During the closure, teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Design & Delivery and Maintenance will come together with different disciplines of expertise. They will renovate this legendary Adventureland attraction. The project will ensure that when the attraction reopens, it has the highest quality of work done to ensure guests can enjoy it year-round.

Restoring the Temple

Disneyland Paris shared that since the attraction opened in 1993, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril has been inviting guests to explore this mysterious temple that is found amidst ancient ruins and stone scenery in the heart of Adventureland. Work will be done to preserve this adventure and its immersive atmosphere. To do this, great care will be taken to completely rebuild some of the stones that form the temple.

There will also be maintenance work performed on the track’s supporting structures. This will particularly be focused on the rails and footbridges. Guardrails, wooden, and metal cladding will all be replaced.

A variety of decorative elements will also be dismantled and then transported to the Central Workshops. There, they will be fully restored to their original splendor.

Refurbishing the Environment

Along with the attraction, the environment around it will also be refurbished. The wooden walkways found throughout the queue will be completely rebuilt. Staircase decorations, campsite scenery, and the famous 4×4 vehicle will also be restored.

The area around the attraction will also be upgraded as part of this refurbishment. Disneyland Paris shared the following elements will be upgraded:

  • Scenic lighting for the attraction

To complete this project, there will be a range of different skill sets utilized towards the common goal of preserving this iconic adventure and improving the experience for both guests and Cast Members. These efforts will be focused on restoring the sets, structures, and stage elements.
