Walt’s Carolwood Barn in Griffith Park is open to the public on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 11 am to 3 pm for free. This gives the public a chance to see Walt’s Carolwood Barn, as well as other displays including Ollie Johnston’s train station and the Retlaw1 Combine Car. The Retlaw1 Combine Car was recently on display at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event held at the Anaheim Convention Center.
In addition to the Carolwood Barn being open to the public, there are several special events held throughout the year to help benefit the Carolwood Foundation.
One such event coming is the “Return to Rainbow Ridge” happening at Garner Holt Productions in Redlands, California. Guests may have the chance to tour Garner Holt’s production studio, enjoy dinner, & hear from people who built, operated, & rode Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. The main event will feature a panel of speakers talking about the history of The Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland ride, how it came to be, personal memories from some special guests, and more!
Special guests for this event are Joanna Miller, Walt Disney’s granddaughter, and Garner Holt, master craftsman of trains and animatronics.
The event will be held Saturday, October 3 from 4 pm to 9 pm.
There are several tiers of tickets available for this event. The first tier is the Rainbow Caverns (Premier). Gates open at 4 pm for this tier. Tickets are $534.31, which includes a $35.31 fee. Premier admission includes front row seating, VIP reception prior to the event starting, exclusive merchandise, dinner, dessert, a tour of Garner Holt Productions, and a panel discussion. The second tier is The Balancing Rock (VIP). Gates open at 5 pm for this tier. Tickets are $268.61, which includes an $18.61 fee. VIP tickets include a tour of Garner Holt Productions, dinner, dessert, panel discussion, exclusive merchandise, and priority seating. The third tier is Twin Sisters (Gen. Admission). Gates open at 6 pm for this tier. Tickets are $135.23, which includes a $10.23 fee. General admission tickets include dinner, dessert, and a panel discussion.
