Two classic Nicolas Cage films are being released on 4K UHD ahead of the holidays this year. Both Con Air and National Treasure will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on November 10th. This means there will be plenty of time to get these early, wrap them, and then put them under the tree! National Treasure will also be launching on 4K Ultra HD Digital on the same day. Con Air is already available in the format after being released in 2025. Both of these films will look better than ever with these 4K releases as they highlight some highlights of Cage’s career.
Con Air was directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It has some incredible moments, lines, and a cast that includes John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, and Dave Chappelle. This is an R-rated action classic that earned two Academy Award nominations. It is one of the most iconic films when one thinks of ’90s blockbuster cinema.
National Treasure arrived in theaters seven years later. This action-adventure introduced many people to the world of history and how exciting it could be. It was also produced by Bruckheimer and directed by John Turteltaub. Cage stars as Benjamin Franklin Gates, a historian and cryptologist who is racing against rivals to decipher a hidden map that just so happens to be found on the back of the Declaration of Independence. This is a mix of puzzles and action that is a whole lot of fun. This PG film holds up decades later and is fun for the whole family.
Both films have been restored in beautiful 4K, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Vision. This will allow viewers to experience these films in an immersive and incredible way, for some the first time. This is an experience where the films will be presented in optimum picture and sound quality. National Treasure’s SteelBook 4K UHD release will include a 4K UHD bonus feature commentary with director John Turtletaub and actor Justin Bartha. Con Air will debut in a limited-edition 4K UHD SteelBook release that includes the 4K UHD, a Blu-ray disc that includes bonus features A View from Above and The Destruction of Las Vegas. It will also include a digital code.
