From August 21 through November 2, Plaza de la Familia will be commemorating the everlasting love and familial bonds. This will be done through culturally rich experiences that are inspired by the spirit of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. With offerings found in both Disney California Adventure, Disneyland, and beyond, this is a beautiful annual offering at Disneyland. It is a reminder of the importance of family, whether related or found.

As Plaza de la Familia kicked off at The Happiest Place on Earth, Daps Magic was invited to take a look at the offerings for Plaza de la Familia. This included the chance to talk about this special tradition with Disneyland Resort spokesperson Stephanie. Along with the food, merchandise, experiences, and decor, The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco! is the marquee entertainment offering. Daps Magic caught the return of this show on the first day of Plaza de la Familia. Check it out here:

Throughout the autumn season, there will also be other entertainers found in the area at the Paradise Gardens Bandstand, the return of the Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life), the Memory Wall, crafts, and more. There are also multiple decorative displays found throughout the resort that are part of this celebration.

For those who love this celebration and the story of Coco, there is also a new attraction being built at the end of Pixar Pier that will allow guests to experience Miguel’s story as seen in the film while onboard a boat. This new attraction is currently under construction, and new details were shared about it during Horizons: A Carousel of Progress at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
