A new line of interactive plush is coming to a galaxy far, far away at The Happiest Place on Earth. Today, Disneyland announced that on August 13, 2026, the first in a line of Batuu Adventure Buddies will be arriving at the Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The first in this line of interactive companions inspired by creators of Star Wars will be the Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddy. This is the first of three in this collection.

The Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddy will feature expressive eyes, motorized facial movements, signature sounds, and even responsive touch interactions that react to people’s attention. They can also interact with other droids that come from the Droid Depot. This adorable Ewok will also include a carrying sling for strolling around Black Spire Outpost and beyond.
In the future, there will be two other Batuu Adventure Buddies coming to Disneyland. The full collection will also be making its debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort eventually as well. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the new Buddy was created by some crafty Anzellan manufacturers.
The Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddy has the following features:
- Interactive Touch Responses – tapping a single time on its head or tapping twice on its belly triggers random responses, while three quick, consecutive head taps enable two special animations:
- Endor Dance Party: Rhythmic eye animations and Ewokese chanting/drumming sounds. Nearby Ewoks may also chime in.
- Forest Call Chain: Rapid double belly tap near other toys, letting out a scout call and allowing nearby toys to respond in their own languages.
- Expressive Details – LCD eye expressions, motorized facial expressions, and signature character sounds
- Accessory-responsive play – Reacts to accessories, like food, toys or tools, placed in the Buddy’s hands. These optional accessories and customizable gear sets are inspired by iconic destinations and beloved characters from across the galaxy

Initially, three Gear Pack accessories will be available. They will have accessories that can be put in the Buddy’s left hand to trigger unique animations, sounds, and reactions. Here are the three Gear Packs that the Droid Depot will have:
- Endor Gear Set (Spear, Horn, Grilled Fish, and Endor Issue Poncho)
- Mandalore Gear Set (Mythosaur Axe, Nummies, Beskar Chest Armor, and Shoulder Cape)
- Batuu Gear Set (YT-1300 Freighter Model, All-Kit Tool, Ronto Wrap, and Bantuuan Poncho)
When guests stop by the Droid Depot to bring home a Buddy they will start by visiting a dedicated wall inside the establishment. A cast member will help guests select their companion and preferred accessories. Once these have been chosen, guests will participate in a special activation moment that will bring their new friend to life for the first time. Once the moment has concluded, they will be free to set off to explore the rest of Batuu with their new little friend.
Droid Depot will continue to offer droid building experiences as well. Guests can choose to create their own versions of the following models of droids:
- BB-Series: Dome, dome connection plate, body sphere, and motivator.
- R-Series: Dome, body, center leg, and a set of R side legs.
- C-Series: Dome, body, center wheel, and a set of C side legs.
- A-LT-Series: Dome, body, and a set of A-LT side legs.
