On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors performed three sets in front of Paradise Bay in Paradise Gardens Park. A stage area was set up in the center of the park with the beautiful view of Paradise Bay and Pixar Pier in the background. This is the U.S. Army’s premier big band, coming to the Disneyland Resort from Washington, D.C. They joined the Disneyland Resort’s celebration of the 4th of July and the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.
The band performed at 2:15 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:15 PM. The band’s performances filled the area with energy. They played a mix of classic big band jazz, Disney, and patriotic tunes. This included their own jazzy version of the Armed Forces Salute. Below is a video of their first performance on a beautiful afternoon at The Happiest Place on Earth!
The U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors was formed in 1969 as a breakout group from the U.S. Army Field Band. The 19-member ensemble performs a wide range of music, including classic big-band standards, solos, patriotic tunes, contemporary jazz, and original compositions by its members. Many of these events have been made available as part of their jazz education initiative called Perspectives.
This educational program offers free resources to underfunded schools. This includes charts of varying levels, printable scores and solos that serve as teaching aids to help learn improvisation, and other tools to help these schools succeed. The band performed at the Disneyland Resort only on the 2nd. Throughout the rest of the 4th of July weekend, other military bands will be found around the parks and the Downtown Disney District. The schedule of patriotic performances can be found here. These are all a part of the Disney Celebrates America initiative in honor of the 250th anniversary of the USA.
