Disney Celebrates America is in full swing at The Happiest Place on Earth! On the last day of June, the Disneyland Resort kicked off what will be a week full of patriotic performances and celebration for the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. On Tuesday, the first military band of the week performed at the Disneyland Resort. The U.S. Army 40th Infantry Division Band performed in both parks throughout the day.

The day started for the band as it marched through Disneyland in the late morning. This was followed by two performances on the Hollywood Backlot Stage in Disney California Adventure. These performances were full of energy, with some popular songs being performed. Daps Magic was on hand to film one of these two identical sets. Check out the video here:
This is the first of several military bands that will be performing at the Disneyland Resort for the 250th anniversary of the USA/4th of July. On Wednesday, the US Air Force Band of The Golden West will be performing throughout the Disneyland Resort. Thursday will see the US Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors performing in Disney California Adventure. The next band will be on the 4th and 5th of July. It will be the 1st Marine Division Band and some of its breakout groups. Daps Magic will be catching as many of these performances as possible. U.S. Army 40th Infantry Division Band at Disney California Adventure | 4th of July Weekend 2026 4K
The U.S. Army 40th Infantry Division Band is headquartered in Los Alamitos, California. The band’s roots go back to the organization of the 7th Infantry Battalion, California National Guard Band in 1886 in Los Angeles, California. Since then, it has been reorganized several times. This includes:
- 1940 as the 160th Infantry Band
- 1943 as the 40th Infantry Division Band
- 1954 as the 40th Armored Division Band
- 1968 as the 240th Army Band
- 1974 as the 40th Infantry Division (Mech) Band, a detachment of the 40th Adjutant General Company
The 40th Infantry Division (M) Band became a separate unit with the reorganization of the division on August 1, 1985. Throughout its history, it has seen four federal activations:
- Mexican Border Service in 1916
- World War I in 1917
- World War II in 1941 (Bismarck Archipelago, Luzon, and the Southern Philippines)
- Korean Conflict in 1950
