Disneyland’s Plaza Inn is known for its fried chicken and other hearty meals served throughout the day, but it’s also home to the “Breakfast in the Park with Minnie and Friends.” It’s also the only location in either park at the Disneyland Resort that offers character dining.
Reservations for Plaza Inn Character Dining always fill up fast, and walk-ups may be available subject to weather and other restrictions.
Beginning August 10, 2026 and continuing through late September, “Breakfast in the Park with Minnie & Friends” will be temporarily unavailable. This closure is not expected to affect lunch and dinner at Plaza Inn, as there is no character dining during those meal times.
During my recent experience at “Breakfast in the Park with Minnie & Friends,” I was able to do a walk-up reservation and was accepted immediately. I took a photo with Minnie, paid for my meal, and got seated. I was then able to get whatever I wanted from the food area. Pastries and drinks were self-service, while main courses were served by Cast Members. There was a wide variety of breakfast options available, and you could go back and enjoy all you want. I started my meal with a mini chocolate muffin, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, and orange juice. I went back for more and got Minnie waffles, French toast, and a made-to-order omelet, which had ham, mushrooms, onions, spinach, tomato, and cheese. I ended my meal with another cup of coffee, orange juice, chocolate milk, a mini cinnamon roll, and Jell-O.
The best part is that you can help yourself to as much as you’d like, but don’t forget to keep a lookout for a variety of beloved Disney Characters.
Characters make their rounds while you eat, so your next character interaction is never too far away. The characters I saw during my dining experience were Chip, Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Daisy Duck, Pluto, Suzy, and Perla. It was definitely fun getting photos with most of them. Be advised that characters can vary depending on the day and the season.
Overall, “Breakfast in the Park with Minnie & Friends” is a great way to start your Disneyland day. You get yummy food and get to see a lot of characters, which makes the experience very worthwhile and magical.
The cost for dining at Plaza Inn for Breakfast in the Park is $55 for adults, $33 for kids ages 3-9, and kids under 3 are free. Magic Key discounts apply for this dining experience.
