Haunted Mansion at Disneyland

Haunted Mansion Closure Dates Revealed for Transformation to Haunted Mansion Holiday

Every year, the Haunted Mansion closes so that it can be transformed into Haunted Mansion Holiday. The reopening of the holiday version of the attraction generally lines up with the start of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. The dates that the Haunted Mansion is scheduled to be closed have been revealed on the calendar on the Disneyland website.

According to the Disneyland website, the classic version of the Haunted Mansion will be closing on August 8, 2026. It will reopen as Haunted Mansion Holiday on August 21, 2026. This lines up with the first day of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. During the time that the attraction is closed, it will be transformed to accommodate Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloween Town. It will also see a new gingerbread house in the ballroom. Last year, the gingerbread house had “A Murder Most Fowl” theme, complete with crows. Video of last year’s Haunted Mansion Holiday can be found here:

The Haunted Mansion Holiday last year also saw the Oogie Boogie Audio-Animatronic upgraded as well. This comes as Walt Disney Imagineering continues to update and innovate its Audio-Animatronic characters throughout the Disney Parks. This included the debut of a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic in Walt Disney – A Magical Life last summer in the Opera House, a robotic Olaf at Disneyland Paris, and the recent addition of a Pirate Audio-Animatronic in Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

What do you think about the closure of the Haunted Mansion in August? Are you looking forward to the arrival of the Haunted Mansion Holiday this year? Do you have any predictions about what the theme for the gingerbread house? Which version of the attraction is your favorite?
