Window for Season Two of ‘Ahsoka’ Release Revealed

Since the end of the first season of Ahsoka, fans have eagerly waited for the second season to arrive. However, it seems like this wait was getting to be indefinite. While it was known that production was happening, a release date has been shrouded in mystery. During Disney’s upfronts today, the layers of mystery were peeled back a little bit. Rosario Dawson, who portrays the live-action version of the title character, revealed a window for when the second season will be arriving on Disney+.

Dawson revealed that the second season of Ahsoka will be premiering on Disney+ in early 2027. Along with making this release reveal, she also shared two clips that gave a look behind-the-scenes at the making of the second season.

The first season of Ahsoka debuted in August 2023. It was a solid hit for Disney+ and made it on the top 10 for Nielsen’s original streaming series list each week a new episode debuted. The second season went into development the following year. However, since then, Lucasfilm dialed back its live-action Star Wars series projects. Skeleton Crew and the final season of Andor have been the only two live-action shows that have come from a galaxy far, far away in the last year and a half. Meanwhile, on the animated side of things, more content continues to be created. The most recent is Maul: Shadow Lord.

The second season of Ahsoka will see the return of Rosario Dawson in the lead role. Hayden Christensen is also set to reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker. This season will see Baylan Skoll, played by Rory McCann, after the death of Ray Stevenson. Other first-season alumni who are expected to be making a return include Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, Eman Esfandi, Evan Whitten, Genevieve O’Reilly, and Lars Mikkelsen.

Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Carrie Beck, and Colin Wilson executive-produced the first season. This will likely remain the same. Only time will tell.

At this point, the exact release date has not been revealed for this season of Ahsoka. Fans will undoubtedly be eagerly awaiting more news, trailers, clips, and an exact release date for this second season. Are you excited about this update on this show?
