Cool KIDS’ SUMMER officially begins at Walt Disney World Resort on May 26th. Ahead of this summer celebration, Walt Disney World has announced that it donated $1.3 million to Central Florida education programs. Of course, Disney didn’t just donate money. They also shared magic with this donation. This saw Disney characters making surprise appearances at schools in Orange, Osceola, Lake, Polk, and Seminole counties. This was the ultimate celebration of both students and educators!
A goofy time was had in local elementary schools with a taste of the fun that families can enjoy during Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at Walt Disney World. As Goofy visited schools, kindergarten, and pre-k students got a taste of the fun that can be had at GoofyCore at EPCOT this summer. Goofy stopped by to help get the party started, and these young students hopped right into the fun!
Along with this fun visit, there was more magic in store. Disney invited teachers, administrators, and school staff to stick around after class for some more fun. This included a big “thank you” for everything they do to support students every day. Part of this “thank you” included tickets to visit Walt Disney World for educators and their families.
The school visits were just a part of Walt Disney World’s support of education in Florida. Along with bringing the fun of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER to these schools, Disney is also providing funding to help education programs thrive.
This includes a $1.3 million donation to support all five local school districts, along with nonprofits like Elevate Orlando, A Gift for Teaching, and programs including Orlando Philharmonic Young People’s Concert and Disney Musicals in Schools through the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
The monetary donation will help make a difference where it’s needed the most, funding opportunities in STEM, literacy programs, arts education, and more.
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER returns to Walt Disney World Resort on May 26 and continues through September 8th. There will be no shortage of fun for families when they visit the Most Magical Place on Earth! Along with getting to hang out with Goofy and other Disney friends, Bluey and Bingo will be appearing in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
