Pedro Pascal on Smugglers Run

Star Wars Fans Surprised in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge by ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Cast & Filmmakers

On Saturday night, Star Wars fans at Disneyland were given quite the surprise. Fans boarding Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run found themselves coming face to face with The Mandalorian. Little did they know, it was The Mandalorian himself! That was until Pedro Pascal removed his helmet and they all geeked out! This magical moment made core memories that will last a lifetime for those lucky fans aboard the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.

The surprise moment aboard the Millennium Falcon was similar to something done in 2017 when Johnny Depp appeared in costume as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean in New Orleans Square. The big difference here is that fans actually had a moment to interact with Pedro Pascal face-to-face, versus just floating by. In both cases, it shows how Disney knows how to make magical memories that will last a lifetime!

That wasn’t the only surprise of the evening, however. With the premiere of The Curious Child, a new projection show on the spires around the Millennium Falcon, Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Dave Filoni, and Jon Favreau made a surprise appearance to watch the new show. Fans in the area around the Millennium Falcon went wild as the four Star Wars celebrities watched the show and waved to those below. The moment was electric as fans cheered on their Star Wars heroes. At one point, Pedro Pascal was thrown a small Grogu plush. He held him out and kissed him, to the delight of everyone who observed.

The surprises come ahead of the arrival of The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters on May 22nd. On the same day, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be updated with new missions, additional gameplay for the roles aboard the ship, and new destinations. Mando and Grogu will also now be a part of the ride.
