There are a lot of exciting things happening at the Disneyland Resort this summer. This is particularly true for Star Wars fans of all levels who visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Earlier this spring, the timeline for the land was expanded. This led to some changes in the land that included new shops, props, and characters with their storylines that included Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Darth Vader with his Stormtroopers. The land also saw the addition of classic Star Wars music from maestro John Williams.
With the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu today, new missions arrived for fans to experience on an updated Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (they are a blast). These missions provide new destinations that include Bespin, Coruscant, and Endor. The updated attraction also gives each position in the cockpit updated responsibilities (guide here).
Over at the speeder garage, the popular BDX Droids have returned. They are hard at work scanning, and in theory, fixing things when they make appearance. In reality, while there is some scanning being done. There is more dancing and interacting with each other and those around them versus getting any work done. This makes for a perfect experience for guests visiting Black Spire Outpost.
This year, the arrival of the BDX Droids sees them coming out completely on their own. They don’t have any handlers. They do respond to a voice or two that come over the radio. They also interact with some of the machinery found around the garage. This appears to be the most advanced and updated appearance at the Disneyland for these droids. It also is very charming and very enjoyable to watch.
The Daps Magic team was on hand for the first couple of appearances of the Red, Oskar, and Grek at Disneyland on May 22nd. Below is a look at their complete first appearance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on this day. They came out for about a half hour and were a blast to watch!
The BDX Droids will be making appearances for a limited time at the Disneyland Resort. An exact timeline is not known. What do you think of the return of these adorable little droids?
