On this day in 2000, the Millennium Dreamers Global Children’s Summit took place at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Millennium Dreamers campaign, sponsored by Disney, McDonalds, and UNESCO, selected 2,000 youth ages 8-15 who made a difference in their communities across the world. The names of the delegates were each read at the United Nations. Then each person was flown to Walt Disney World for three days to participate in a symposium. [25 years ago in 2025]
