Many fans have been clammoring for years for The Muppets to make a return with a new version of The Muppet Show. This doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. However, as both The Muppets at Disneyland Resort celebrate their 70th anniversary, The Muppets are going to be having a Muppet pre-show ahead of World of Color Happiness! And who knows, maybe Kermit will even say “It’s the Muppet pre-show!” at the beginning of it… in a nod to the opening of the original The Muppet Show?
This week, the Disneyland Resort provided an official description of this pre-show. It will be a song-and-dance number that is also a safety spiel. Below is a look at the official description for this Muppets pre-show.
But First… A Muppets Pre-Show
Just before World of Color Happiness! begins, watch as Kermit the Frog, Gonzo and other Muppets step into the spotlight to share safety announcements in a zany song-and-dance number projected across the expressive World of Color fountains.
Wocka wocka… but don’t run. Safety first!
Both The Muppets and the Disneyland Resort are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. In fact, The Muppets had their 70th anniversary on May 9, 2025. This marked 70 years since the first time Kermit the Frog and the gang appeared on Sam and Friends in Washington D.C. What started as a humble beginning ended up leading to The Muppet Show, multiple movies, specials, series, and appearances on all size screens and stages. This next appearance will be on water screens!
Daps Magic will be on hand to cover the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. This will include filming But First… A Muppets Pre-Show (probably more than once).
