On this day in 2020, ‘Modern Family’ aired its final episode on ABC after an 11-season run. The show followed the lives of three diverse but connected families. It was filmed in the mockumentary style that often featured characters giving interviews directly to the camera. ‘Modern Family’ became one of the most acclaimed TV series in history, winning 22 Emmy Awards between 2009 and 2020, including the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series five years in a row.
