Disney on Broadway’s Hercules is making its way to London’s West End. Ahead of the musical’s arrival, promotion has begun on social media to raise awareness and excitement for the production. Today, a new music video was released on YouTube. It shows London’s West End Muses singing Zero to Hero. This is a song that was heard in the original film from Walt Disney Animation Studios and will also be in the stage production. Check out this new video below.
The West End Muses are made up of Candace Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Brianna Ogunbawo, Malinda Parris, and Robin Rose-Li. Hercules is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott.
The musical is “inspired by the animation, inspired by the ancient myth. It’s what classical civilization would have wanted.”
Hercules opens in June at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. More information can be found at: herculesthemusical.co.uk.
This musical was originally announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. A brief preview of what would come was given during a Disney on Broadway medley (seen below). Disney on Broadway is celebrating 30 years of bringing magic to the stage.
