In 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in theaters. It introduced the world to the magic of a Walt Disney animated film and also Disney’s first princess. Nearly a century later, Disney is about to release a live-action film adaptation of Disney’s originally animated movie. Ahead of the arrival of this film, Propstore Auctions has two rare Snow White posters that are up for auction. These posters are nearly a century old and are treasures that some bidder will get to add to their collection.
The two Snow White posters were created by animator and illustrator Gustaf Tenggren. Tenggren was behind the posters for Snow White, Fantasia, Pinocchio, and Bambi. The full auction will include over 900 historic posters from all eras of Hollywood with bidding opening on March 7 and continuing through March 8, 2025.
“These posters are more than just advertising materials; they’re time capsules that bring us back to the golden age of animation and the birth of feature-length animated storytelling,” said Grey Smith, Propstore’s U.S. Poster Director. “With the new film poised to bring Snow White to a whole new generation, this auction is a unique way to own a piece of its incredible legacy.”

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) 22″ x 28” poster, by Gustaf Tenggren, the late illustrator best known for his Arthur Rackham-inspired fairy-tale style, and celebrated for his work on Disney classics like “Snow White” and “Pinocchio”. This iconic “Style A” half sheet poster is considered one of the most desirable from this iconic Disney animated feature. A gem from the early days of the animated feature film genre, the poster is unfolded, with minor wear including pinholes, border tears, and small stains to showcase its original condition. Estimated to fetch $4,000–$8,000.
