The threat of the fires in the Los Angeles region might have subsided but the recovery is just beginning. Disney has committed to help with the relief and rebuilding efforts. This is being done in multiple ways. One of these is through the creation of a new Disney LA Strong t-shirt. This is more than just a shirt but also a reminder of the strength of coming together to unite and rebuild as a community.
“It was devastating to witness the impact of the Los Angeles wildfires, especially knowing so many of our colleagues and their families call this area home,” said Tasia Filippatos, president of Disney Consumer Products. “The Disney LA Strong shirt represents our collective show of support for the community and is a powerful reminder that, together, we have the strength to rebuild and heal.”
The shirts will be sold throughout the year. From now through December 31, 2025, for each Disney LA Strong t-shirt sold in the United States, Disney will donate $25 to the American Red Cross. These donations will go to those affected by the California wildfires in 2025. They will provide relief through food, shelter, emotional support, and recovery assistance.
Disney has deep roots within the Los Angeles community. This made the destruction caused by the wildfires even more heartbreaking. The idea for these Disney LA Strong t-shirts came out of a desire by Disney employees to give back and show support for those who have been impacted by the fires.
Disney shared that the design is minimalist and meaningful with Mickey Mouse being on the shirt with the simple and straightforward LA Strong lettering in either black or white. It is a tribute to the Los Angeles community’s resistance, strength, spirit, and ability to rise from adversity.
This Disney LA Strong t-shirt is just one of many ways that Disney supports community relief efforts. Disney has also announced a $15 million commitment to help with immediate response and rebuilding efforts in the Los Angeles area. There have also been donation drives that were hosted by Disney VoluntEARS that have collected over 200,000 essential items for impacted individuals and families.
