On this day in 2015, the famous Sorcerer Mickey hat started to come down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Previously the park’s icon, the hat’s removal was part of a park-wide transformation. It was first built in 2001 as part of the 100 Years of Magic Celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort. Some guests felt that the large sorcerer hat was too obstructive and it didn’t fit with the park’s old Hollywood theme. It was completely removed by February 25. [10 years ago in 2025]
