On this day in 1954, “A Story of Dogs” first aired on the ‘Disneyland’ ABC-TV series. The hour-long episode “went to the dogs!” Walt Disney devoted the first half of the show to previewing the upcoming film ‘Lady and the Tramp.’ He gave looks behind the scenes at the work done by the animators, artists, director, voice artists, and camera operators. Walt reserved the second half for shorts showcasing his “first dog star,” Pluto. [70 years ago in 2024]
