Disney Cruise Line Updates Birth Certificate Policy

The Disney Cruise Line has updated its policy regarding birth certificates for cruisers on closed loop cruises. These are cruises that begins and ends in the United States and doesn’t require a passport. They are also known as round trip cruises.

Previously, the Disney Cruise Line would allow for travelers to utilize a copy of their birth certificate. This is no longer the case. Travelers will now need to utilize an original state-issued birth certificate. Along with no longer allowing for a photocopy of a birth certificate, a hospital birth certificate cannot be used either. Birth certificates from Puerto Rico that were released prior to July 1, 2010 are also not acceptable.

The updated policy was sent out in an email to future cruisers that was shared by the Disney Cruise Line Blog. It also is reflected on the Disney Cruise Line website in its policies for Before You Go.

Disney Cruise Line New Ships

The Disney Cruise Line continues to grow with four new ships recently announced during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. As the Disney Cruise Line continues to expand, it also continues to enhance its policies to make for a safer and more secure cruising experience for its guests. This will allow for all who are aboard a Disney ship to enjoy the magic even more, rather than on specific travel details and eventualities.
