The show centered around the Hennessy family and the comedy of a protective father setting strict but well-meaning standards for his daughters. ‘8 Simple Rules’ starred John Ritter and Katey Sagal. Sadly, Ritter passed away in the middle of the second season, leaving the characters to deal with his loss on the show as well. It ran for three seasons.
