On Sunday, August 25, 2024, the first Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party took place. Thousands of Disney fans who love Halloween descended on Disney California Adventure to experience this incredible Halloween party. The night included entertainment, character meet and greets, special foods, merchandise, and also treat trails! The treat trails are where guests could load up on candy. It is also is where they could see some rare Disney villains that aren’t often seen in the parks. This year saw the return of Judge Doom and Yokai from last year’s Oogie Boogie Bash. Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb along with Hades from Hercules arrived as well. Agatha Harkness also debuted a new outfit from her upcoming series Agatha All Along. There were multiple other Disney villains found on treat treats throughout the park. Below is a look at each of the treat trails from the 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash. Dr. Doofenshmirtz – Disney Theater
Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb could be found on the stage in the Disney Theater. There were plenty of treats being handed out as Doofenshmirtz attempted to once again succeed at a diabolical plan. If you don’t want to wait in line for this treat trail, go during the Frightfully Fun Parade! The longest line for this treat trail seemed to be right at the start of the party.
Hades – Hollywood Backlot Stage
Hades from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hercules could be found at the Hollywood Backlot Stage. This was a very popular treat trail but it moves fairly quickly. There is also a row for those who want to take photos or videos and another row right behind it for those who just want to walk by. This made for a much better experience for those who wanted to spend time watching Hades and also those who wanted to just keep moving forward. Hades also blew his top and turned red when he did it throughout the night!
Judge Doom – Soarin’ Around the World
Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit returned to Oogie Boogie Bash in the same location that he was found last year. This is just to the left of Soarin’ Around the World. The experience is slightly different this year but still very cool. This line also moved fairly quickly this year.
Yokai – San Fransokyo Square
Yokai returned to San Fransokyo Square again this year. This line also moved fairly quickly. The Big Hero 6 villain is a wonderfully intimidating presence at this treat trail.
Agatha Harkness – Ancient Sanctum
Agatha Harkness, originally from WandaVision, is found in the Ancient Sanctum at Avengers Campus. Now she is wearing a new outfit that will be seen in the upcoming Agatha All Along series on Disney+. This line also moves quickly and there really isn’t a wait for it at any time throughout the Halloween party.
Ernesto de la Cruz – Hyperion Theater Queue
A fan-favorite, Ernesto de la Cruz has returned to the Oogie Boogie Bash again this year. Throughout the night he speaks with guests, sings, and is a terrifying presence as he practically glows in the dark. This queue also has two rows up front near Ernesto to allow for watching or walking.
Madam Mim – Bountiful Valley Hideaway
Madam Mim, from The Sword in the Stone, also made a very welcome return to Oogie Boogie Bash. She is absolutely hilarious to watch. Her line was not too crowded when the Daps Magic team stopped by. This is a very entertaining treat trail that has become a highlight in recent years at this Halloween party.
Sid – Pixar Pier Bandstand
Sid, the neighbor boy in Toy Story, returned again to the Pixar Pier Bandstand. This year it seemed his treat trail was easier to get through and not as packed as others. He was equally entertaining, however.
Oogie Boogie – Animation Lobby
What would the Oogie Boogie Bash be without Oogie Boogie? This The Nightmare Before Christmas villain is found in the Animation Lobby. He is always popular it seems. The line for this treat trail at the beginning of the party was considerable. Throughout the night it did get shorter but it still kept busy. This treat trail is always a lot of fun and can be done at any time through the night. If you don’t feel the need to start with him, you will get a shorter line.
The treat trails at this year’s Oogie Boogie Bash were a lot of fun! They also seemed to be more efficient this year, making it easier to experience all of them. The longest lines seemed to be right at the start of the party and were for Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Oogie Boogie, and Hades. However, as the night went on these lines got much shorter. If you do find that a line seems too long, just return doing one of the parade times. It will most likely be shorter.
