On this day in 1969, the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland hosted a grand opening to the public. In the early morning, the press took part in a midnight sneak preview event. Although guests were admitted to the attraction for soft openings starting on August 9 and 10, the official opening day was Tuesday the 12th.
