On this day in 1875, fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen sadly passed away. His literary works have lived on and become famous around the world, with several being adapted by Disney. ‘The Little Mermaid’ kicked off the Disney Renaissance. The global sensations ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen II’ were based on ‘The Snow Queen.’ ‘The Ugly Duckling’ and ‘The Little Match Girl’ were made into short films, and ‘The Steadfast Tin Soldier’ was featured in ‘Fantasia 2000.’
