On this day in 1985, Tinker Bell took her first flight over Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World as part of the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks show. Tinker Bell’s flight was planned to be only a seasonal event, but the first night drew over 60,000 guests for the occasion! Tinker Bell became so popular that her appearance turned into a nightly tradition over many years. Her flight is truly magical, clocking in at between 25-30 miles per hour!
