The Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering have revealed what the bow of the massive Disney Adventure will look like when it takes to sea next year. When the ship begins taking guests on magical adventures next year from Singapore, it will have Captain Mickey Mouse on its bow. This continues a tradition of putting a Disney character on the bow of Disney Cruise Line ships. The reveal was made on social media in a video that can be seen below. Beyond just showing Mickey Mouse on the bow, the video also shows that the filigree has some magical additions. Look closely and see that Mickey is surrounded by some of his Disney friends!
Here is the video that made the announcement:
The Disney Adventure, originally known as the Global Dream, was purchased in 2022 by Disney. At the time of purchase, it wasn’t complete. Disney has been transforming and finishing the ship as it prepares to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. When it is complete, it will be the first ship in the fleet to be based in Singapore.
This isn’t the next ship that will be joining the Disney fleet, however. The Disney Treasure is set to have its maiden voyage in December. This ship will also have a theme of adventure and bring favorite stories from across The Walt Disney Company to life. This includes stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney Parks tales.
When completed, the Disney Adventure will be painted with the iconic Mickey Mouse-inspired colors of the fleet. This will include the red funnels on top. The 208,000-gross-ton ship is expected to be among the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available. Disney Cruise Line expects the passenger capacity to be approximately 6,000 with around 2,300 crew members.
