Space Mountain at Disneyland has been undergoing a refurbishment that lasted over a month. When it reopened, fans were delighted to see that at night it was sporting a new and beautiful lighting package. With hues of purple and gold, it is reminiscent of the colors that once were found throughout Tomorrowland in the late 90s and 2000s. The inside looks better than ever for this attraction as well after the downtime.

Space Mountain, an iconic attraction at Disneyland, had its galactic debut on May 27, 1977. It was the second Space Mountain to be built in a Disney park, following its predecessor at Walt Disney World in 1975. The ride, a thrilling indoor roller coaster, was revolutionary in its use of technology, taking guests on a simulated journey through outer space in complete darkness with only illuminated stars and galaxies overhead. Designed to capture the excitement and wonder of space travel, it has been a fan favorite since its inception, known for its high-speed twists and turns. Over the years, Space Mountain has seen various refurbishments and updates, including themed overlays like “Ghost Galaxy” and “Hyperspace Mountain,” making it a dynamic and enduring part of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, offering guests a timeless voyage to the stars.
