Asha, who will be appearing in Disney’s animated film Wish is coming to the Disney Parks soon. It was announced over the weekend at Destination D23 that the new character will be appearing at the Disneyland Resort, EPCOT at the Walt Disney World Resort, and Disneyland Paris.
Asha is the main protagonist in Wish. She is a 17-year-old girl who is a sharp-witted idealist who believes in the power of wishes. Asha also cares deeply about her community and is concerned about darkness she sees in her kingdom. She wishes so hard that she gets an answer from a ball of energy called Star. Together Asha and Star face off against a very formidable foe, the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico. Asha and Star must save her community and also prove that when the will of one person connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can end up happening.
Wish is set to be released in theaters on November 22, 2023. It features the vocal talents of actor Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino. It is directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn. It also has songs by Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice and a score by composer Dave Metzger.
